Position starts at$28.85/HRWe are seeking candidates to fill twoAnimal Transport Driver positions. These positions requires a safe, efficient tractor trailer driver with a positive attitude to make mostly regional runs (SE Iowa and Western Illinois) scheduled Monday through Friday during 1st shift operations. Depending on needs and delivery schedules, the drivers within this department also deliver feed loads out of the Oakville Feed Mill This position will be responsible for:Driving safely to scheduled sow farms for loading weaned and / or culled pigs;Coordination of safe loading and accurate countsDelivery to local grower farmsSafe unloadingTractor/trailer cleanup including washing as needed. Job Requirements/Expectations:Successful candidates will have a valid CDL, a proven safe driving history and the ability to work and communicate effectively. The person selected for this position must:Be physically able to safely and efficiently load /unload weaned pigs and/or culled sows into trailer and appropriate compartments. Be physically able to safely and efficiently wash and disinfect tractor/trailers on a daily basis.Be able to interact positively with TriOak Sow Farm Employees on a daily basis.Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers / managers in order to promote teamwork.Be self-motivated and be able to work without direct supervision.Must have good attendance.Have a valid CDL-A with a good, safe driving record.Be willing to perform other duties assigned by your immediate supervisor.Be able to follow safety rules and bio-security regulations setup by TriOak Foods.Employees who express interest in this position will be considered based on the following criteria: work history, positive attitude, employee driving history, driver's record, etc.Success Factors:Willingness to listen and learn.Ability to be a team player.Able to work in a physically demanding environment.Able to work weekends and holidays as required.Display honesty, trustworthiness, and dependability always.Show pride in work well done.Be respectful of others.Maintain strong work ethic.Show initiative to seek other work upon completion of a task.Job Qualifications:A valid driver?s license is required (must maintain a safe driving record).Must have a valid Class "A or B" driver?s license and be insurable on the company program. Must have a good driving record.Needs to have a good sense of direction, in order to understand written and/or spoken instructions required for delivery.Must be able to work in adverse outside conditions when temperatures may range from above 100 degrees to 0 degrees and below, for the entire workday.Must be able to drive under adverse road conditions in order to complete all deliveries.Ability to scale several types of ladders, such as bin ladders, and truck ladders.Be able to lift 55 lbs. repeatedly.Be dependable, self-motivating, and willing to work.Must be able to pass random DOT drug and alcohol screenings and tests.Be in relatively good physical and mental condition.Able to maintain balance on all types of surfaces including slippery surfaces.Able to retain written and spoken instructions.Willing to work long flexible hours, if necessary, to meet the expectations of the job.Working Conditions:During summer months outside temperatures can be over 100 degrees for the entire workday.During winter months outside temperatures can be below zero degrees for the entire workday.During and after heavy rains facilities and roads can be extremely muddy, snow covered, icy and difficult to maneuver on.During some job duties the noise level can become very loud (earplugs are provided).Normal duties will expose the individual to odors, dusts, and gases that may be uncomfortable or hazardous, if proper procedures are not followed.May possibly be exposed to procedures that cause contact with hazardous materials.The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the followingcompensation and benefits:Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;Paid Time Off: vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;401(k):company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;Better Futures Program Online Classes or select 2 Year Community College tuition paid for you or your dependents!Supervisor Development Program:Opportunity to grow your career through leadership training.About JBSJBS USA is a leading global provider of diversified, high-quality food products, including a portfolio of well-recognized brands and innovative, easy-to-use food solutions.
