FPGA Engineer, Senior
The Opportunity:
Lead major microelectronics programs in the areas of design, verification, fabrication, packaging, technology node access, integrity, trust, and assurance with Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) design solutions. Provide technical and programmatic advice and lead services for a range of advanced systems, sensor, and computer processing technologies and programs. Lead, advise, and assist the government with technical assessments, strategic planning, and engineering evaluations. Lead the design, development, test, fielding, and sustainment of advanced microelectronics systems and associated trust and assurance programs. Demonstrate technical expertise in the analysis and design of integrated circuit for critical technologies for the DoD.

You Have:
  • 7+ years of experience with FPGA development and FPGA research across multiple device families and platforms
  • Experience working with Hardware Description Language (HDL) development and embedded design
  • Experience with implementing HDL for systems-on-chip or FPGAs in systems with or without microcontrollers
  • Experience with hardware and design security concepts, including verification methodologies and test benches and with embedded software
  • Knowledge of alternatives to HDL in FPGA development, such as HDL Coder or Xilinx System Generator
  • Ability to develop hardware design specifications based on requirements or concept sketches and perform technical planning, circuit level design, implementation, verification, formal Acceptance, and Production tests
  • Ability to perform functional analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition to address customer requirements
  • Ability to lead and actively participate in hardware design, including architecture plan, and direct generation of functional block diagrams, state diagrams, and schematics
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with performing verification for Defense microelectronics systems
  • Experience with the microelectronics design and verification landscape, including varying types of IP Blocks
  • Experience with Universal Verification Methodology
  • Experience with continuous integration development practices
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering preferred; Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering a plus

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
