How much do RTG operators make in the US?

RTG (Rubber-Tired Gantry) operators in the US typically earn between $15 and $25 per hour, with annual salaries ranging from approximately $30,000 to $50,000. Wages depend on experience, location, and the complexity of the equipment operated, and certification or training in forklift or heavy machinery operation is often required.

Is there a shortage of crane operators?

There is a consistent demand for crane operators, including RTG (Rubber Tired Gantry) operators, due to ongoing construction, shipping, and logistics projects. The industry often faces shortages of qualified operators, especially those with certifications and experience operating specialized equipment like RTGs. This demand can lead to competitive wages and opportunities for those with proper training and licensing.

Crane operators, including RTG (Rubber Tired Gantry) operators, typically do not earn $300,000 annually.
