As the Chief Engineer - Robotics, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering department's technical direction and ensuring the successful execution of projects. You will lead a team of different development disciplines, providing structure, guidance, and support to achieve the company's strategic goals. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing resources, and ensuring the highest standards of engineering excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the robotics development team, advancing a culture of innovation, collaboration, delivery, and continuous improvement.

  • Advance the team to adhere to the engineering strategies, principles, processes, and procedures to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

  • Ensure the team adheres to the ASI Product Development Process (PDP) and passage of all gate reviews.

  • Maintain compliance with budgets, resource management, and milestone deliveries.

  • Oversee the design, development, and testing of engineering solutions, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and performance standards.

  • Perform internal development reviews and gates [Example: Concept, Detailed, and Final Designs] to ensure the requirements and project performance metrics are met.

  • Collaborate with other departments, including product management, operations, and manufacturing to align engineering efforts with business objectives.

  • Manage engineering budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the robotics engineering team, resolving complex technical issues and challenges.

  • Promote requirements-driven designs, ensuring that all engineering solutions are aligned with customer needs and business goals.

  • Facilitate the alignment of verification and validation processes with the specified requirements.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and certifications.

  • Mentor and develop engineering talent, promoting professional growth and career development within the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role.

  • 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams.

  • Strong technical background with expertise in engineering principles, practices, and methodologies.

  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience managing engineering budgets, resources, and timelines.

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and certifications.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and staying current with industry trends and best practices.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Chief Engineer or similar.

  • Experience working in Robotics, Automation, or a similar field.

  • Master's Degree.
