As a Ridgeline Staff Software Engineer on our Portfolio Accounting team, you'll have the unique opportunity to build an industry-defining, fast, scalable accounting engine with full asset class support and global market coverage. You will provide technical leadership to help evolve our architecture, scale to meet our growth opportunities, and exemplify software engineering best practices across the organization. The impact you will make:
  • Lead your team in adopting AI-assisted engineering practices by driving experiments that measurably improve productivity, quality, and outcomes while sharing learnings with adjacent teams
  • Evaluate AI tooling critically, identifying risks such as hallucination and security exposure, and establish guardrails that enable responsible adoption
  • Contribute accounting domain knowledge, design skills, and technical expertise to a cross-functional team
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design reviews to shipping production code
  • Lead the design and evolution of cloud-native services on AWS, soliciting broad feedback and building team consensus around key architectural decisions
  • Represent the team's systems in cross-functional technical discussions and contribute to Ridgeline's Architecture Advice Process
  • Build developer automation that enables scalable, high-quality applications relied upon by asset managers
  • Coach and mentor engineers responsible for delivering secure, high-performing enterprise applications
  • Participate in engineering hiring and talent-building initiatives
  • Think creatively, own complex problems, seek pragmatic solutions, and communicate clearly along the way
  • Drive engineering best practices that ensure maintainability, observability, and high availability
  • Contribute to a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and transparent collaboration

What we look for:
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of designing and delivering new products
  • 3+ years of experience in Portfolio Accounting, Reconciliation, Market Data, or FinTech application development
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline
  • Experience building cloud-native applications, preferably on AWS
  • Familiarity with high-availability systems, production on-call practices, and performance monitoring
  • Understanding of automated testing strategies across multiple levels
  • Ability to balance short-term priorities with long-term architectural thinking
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to learn and explore cutting-edge technologies while cultivating expertise in complex business domains
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude
  • Serious interest in having fun at work
