The Affordability Analyst will support the manager in developing and maintaining multi-year affordability analytics pipeline. This role will have a strong emphasis on data analysis, establishing standards, and best practices and creating frameworks that guide the affordability team in delivering actionable insights that enhance healthcare affordability. The ideal candidate will leverage data to inform healthcare savings initiatives, drive decision-making and improve outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Accountabilities

  • Leadership
    • Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts on advance and applied data analysis techniques, tools and best practices to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Data Analysis
    • Conduct comprehensive analyses of healthcare affordability data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for improvement.
    • Develop and maintain standardized methodologies for data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure consistency and reliability across the affordability team.
    • Prepare detailed dashboards and reports and engaging presentations for leadership, clearly articulating key findings, insights and recommendations.
    • Assist in prioritizing analytics projects, establishing clear metrics for success and managing timelines to ensure timely delivery of insights.
    • Develop the capability to measure long-term value driven by affordability efforts over multiple years.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships
    • Collaborate with the affordability team and enterprise business unit leaders to design and implement robust data collection processes and reporting frameworks that facilitate effective decision-making.
    • Engage with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and ensure alignment on analytics initiatives that support broader organizational goals.
    • Develop and manage the "value realization/value story" utilizing affordability analytics data and input from key stakeholders and partners.
  • Business Acumen
    • Develop, document, and maintain operating playbooks, workflows, and standard operating procedures for analytics processes, ensuring consistent and well documented methodologies.
    • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data analysis methodologies to continuously enhance the team’s analytical capabilities.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in analytics practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field
  • 5 years of work experience beyond degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong proficiently in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Excel) and visualization techniques/software (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing data standards and best practices within an analytical environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, evaluate, and interpret complex data sets, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively in cross functional teams, engaging with individuals from diverse professional backgrounds.
  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Healthcare Analytics, Healthcare Economics or a related field
  • Management consulting experience with a focus on analytics.

This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite, on average, 3 days per week. We are open to candidates located near one of the following office locations: Minnetonka, MN, or Madison, WI.

The full salary grade for this position is $90,500 - $155,200. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $90,500 - $122,835. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.  In addition to compensation, Medica offers a generous total rewards package that includes competitive medical, dental, vision, PTO, Holidays, paid volunteer time off, 401K contributions, caregiver services and many other benefits to support our employees.
