Position Summary
Working at Popejoy Hall, New Mexico's premier performing arts center, this position provides a broad range of support services for the Production department during and prior to events, performances, and rehearsals.
Some of these support responsibilities include purchasing and/or ordering supplies and equipment related to hospitality and artist/performance support needs. This position will maintain an inventory of those items and will be responsible for ordering and receiving replacement supplies as needed. May need to purchase more urgently needed items locally as determined by specific show needs on a weekly basis. This position will also be responsible for ordering, scheduling, setting up, and overseeing catering as contracted in visiting Artists' riders. This will include preparing the catering space beforehand to ensure its readiness and cleanliness and will restore the space to a proper level of cleanliness after the event.
This position will interact directly with caterers and vendors, and often the Artists and Performers themselves, and will therefore be required to provide excellent customer service on behalf of Popejoy Hall in these interactions. During events, this position will also liaison directly with the Artists and Peformers, often acting as a personal escort through Popejoy's private and public spaces in partnership with Popejoy's security team as needed.
May perform other clerical and administrative support as needed. Please note, this position is an on call position limited to approximately 15 hours per week and will often be required to work nights and weekends.

Conditions of Employment
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of backstage and technical theater operations, including safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to review contracts and align hospitality needs with logistical capacities.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities to ensure timely completion of multiple, simultaneous tasks.
  • Knowledge of special events planning and catering procedures.
  • Skill in the use of computers and related software applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and touring personnel.
  • Ability to problem solve, make immediate decisions, and provide leadership under pressure.
