Job description

Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced Sr Java API Developer to drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable, high performance API solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java, microservices architecture, API frameworks, and cloud native development. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands on development capability, and the ability to guide a team through complex engineering challenges.
The developer will collaborate closely with cross functional partners, ensure adherence to engineering best practices, and oversee end to end solution quality. This position plays a critical role in shaping technical direction, mentoring developers, and ensuring the successful implementation of robust and secure API services.
This position is located at our client site in Cleveland, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, or Dallas, TX onsite 5 days a week.
Future duties and responsibilities
Responsible for high quality technical deliverables.
2. Drive the direction and roadmap for the microservices architecture.
3. Provide innovative solutions to complex situations and drive outcomes.
4. Provide technical guidance and architectural assistance Java/Spring framework
5. Help the other members of the team with technical queries and guide and mentor them to develop top quality code.
6. Work in an Agile environment and adapt to the changing needs and requirements of the business.
7. Always be ready to be hands-on to develop or fix issues to deliver on time and of the highest quality.
8. Work closely with leadership and the whole Tech team.
9. Work to guide team members to create test plans, and ensure the issues are properly identified, fixed and tested.
10. Develop all code incorporating the best practices.
Required Qualifications:
1. 5-8 years of experience building Java / J2EE / Enterprise Java solutions, including Java frameworks, including Spring, JSF, and Hibernate.
2. Experience developing and consuming SOAP and REST web services for an operational/production environment
3. Design and maintain APIs, services, and different payment sources
4. Work with API developers across the teams to build new API features at large-scale
5. Experience working with OpenShift, Containerization and Microservices
6. Experience with Java technologies and frameworks mainly Spring and Hibernate.
7. Knowledge of client-side technologies like Node JS, Angular JS, Angular 2+, Backbone JS or Cordova.
8. Experience in Kubernetes, Apache Kafka and MongoDB.
9. Experience integrating Java based applications with Oracle / SQL Server
10. Hands on experience working REST API development using Spring Boot & Spring framework.
11. Experience coding to prevent hacking and other vulnerabilities.
12. Strong collaboration and communication skills within distributed project teams and in an Agile environment.
13. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
