The Work:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cleared Java Developer with deep experience in cloud‑native application development (AWS) and modern distributed architectures. The ideal candidate is proficient in building scalable microservices, integrating event‑driven systems using Apache Kafka, and working within DevOps‑driven environments. This person thrives in collaborative settings, excels at solving complex technical challenges, and is committed to delivering secure, reliable, high‑performance software solutions.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain cloud‑native applications using Java and modern cloud technologies
  • Develop microservices and RESTful APIs leveraging frameworks such as Spring Boot
  • Integrate and manage Apache Kafka for high‑throughput, distributed event streaming and messaging
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate deployment pipelines and ensure robust CI/CD practices
  • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability in cloud environments
  • Implement security best practices to safeguard applications, services, and data
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues related to application performance and reliability
  • Work closely with architects, product managers, and engineering teams to deliver high‑quality solutions
  • Participate in code reviews, contributing to continuous improvement of code quality and maintainability

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Proven experience in cloud‑native development on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (AWS preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in Java and building microservices using Spring Boot
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, topics, and streaming concepts
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
  • Familiarity with automated build and deployment pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar tools
  • Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices
  • Active DOD Secret Clearance
  • Ability to work on‑site in Arlington, VA two to three days per week

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
