Position Overview
Batth Trucking Inc is seeking a dependable and hands-on team member for our New Jersey office. This position is ideal for someone with CDL driving experience, strong knowledge of DOT regulations, and the ability to support multiple departments including operations, safety, and maintenance.
This is a hybrid role that combines local driving, safety compliance, fleet coordination, and driver support responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Local Driving & Operations
  • Pick up and deliver loads locally for OTR drivers. Class A license is needed!
  • Shuttle trailers and equipment between yards, customers, and company locations
  • Assist with trailer swaps and local load recoveries
  • Support dispatch and operations team with urgent driver needs
  • Assist company drivers during roadside breakdowns and help coordinate repairs, towing, and vendor communication
  • Must be able to operate both manual and automatic transmission trucks
Safety & Driver Compliance
  • Assist safety department with driver logbook and ELD monitoring
  • Help ensure DOT compliance for drivers and equipment
  • Conduct initial road tests for new driver applicants
  • Assist with new hire safety orientation and onboarding
  • Verify driver documents, DVIRs, and compliance paperwork
  • Collect and organize DOT paperwork for company trucks, trailers, and owner operators
Fleet & Maintenance Support
  • Coordinate truck and trailer repairs with service vendors and shops
  • Take equipment to repair facilities and follow up on repair status
  • Monitor maintenance schedules and help reduce DOT violations
  • Perform basic equipment inspections and identify safety concerns
  • Ensure trailers and trucks meet FMCSA and DOT standards before dispatch
  • Track shop and operational inventory on a daily basis
  • Provide biweekly inventory updates and assist with inventory organization and accountability
Qualifications
  • CDL Class A preferred
  • Minimum 2 years trucking industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, ELD/logbook systems, and FMCSA compliance
  • Ability to drive both manual and automatic trucks
  • Mechanically inclined with ability to identify equipment issues
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced transportation environment
  • Clean driving record and professional attitude required
