Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking an Urban Designer in New York, NY.

Job Details:

  • Lead urban design and public realm planning for transportation and infrastructure projects including streetscapes, transit corridors, waterfront resiliency improvements, and multimodal public spaces
  • Produce technical urban design drawings including site plans, sections, grading concepts, streetscape layouts, and spatial design diagrams for planning and construction coordination
  • Manage project staffing, internal coordination, and resource planning
  • Contribute to business development efforts including proposal development and client presentations
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate civil, structural, transportation, and environmental systems into viable design solutions
  • Prepare presentation materials, design reports, and planning documentation for clients, agencies, and regulatory review processes
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week
Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field of study and 4 years of experience as an Urban Designer, Architectural Designer, or in a related occupation.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field of study and 2 years of experience as an Urban Designer, Architectural Designer, or in a related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following:

  1. Urban design and master planning
  2. Public realm and streetscape design
  3. Site planning
  4. Technical drawing and design documentation
  5. 3D modeling and visualization
  6. AutoCAD
  7. Rhino
  8. SketchUp
  9. GIS
  10. Adobe Creative Suite
  11. MS Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
