Job Description

United Health Services Hospitals is a family of health service organizations that exists to improve the health of the communities we serve by developing and maintaining a comprehensive and cost-effective health care system. A not-for-profit organization, located in the Southern Tier of Upstate New York with Primary and Specialty Care offices in many locations throughout Broome, Chenango, Delaware and Tioga counties.

UHS Orthopedics is focused on recruiting specialized surgeons for growth and succession planning and has an excellent opportunity for a Fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon (Hand). This practice has a regional referral base as well as a large, established primary care team within our system to support our specialists. The practice is currently comprised of three total joint surgeons who specialize in knee, hip and shoulder, a hand surgeon, two sports medicine surgeons, a fellowship trained trauma surgeon, two non-op sports medicine physicians and two physiatrists.

UHS Orthopedics is very supportive of the use of APPS to enhance patient care and has outstanding clinical and administrative support staff to maximize the day-to-day operations of the office. It is located in a new state-of-the-art facility with a large Physical Therapy practice as well as Podiatry, Chiropractic and Rheumatology, allowing for a multidisciplinary approach to treating patients.

There are opportunities for teaching residents and medical students from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, involvement in the education of the UHS sports medicine fellow, as well as the ability to participate in clinical research. A competitive starting salary range of $855,000 to $1,089,000, with excellent benefits, sign on bonus, moving expenses, malpractice insurance and a vast array of employment benefits including a robust retirement plan.
