Job description

Field Service Engineer
Position Overview:
Lambert Nemec Group is partnering with a respected and innovative leader in advanced healthcare and pharmacy automation systems in their search for a Field Service Engineer. This is an exceptional opportunity for an autonomous, hands-on technical professional to deploy, refine, and troubleshoot cutting-edge automated hardware and software solutions across diverse client sites.
This role is ideal for a travel-resilient, self-directed individual contributor who thrives outside of the micro-management of high-density, repetitive factory floors. Operating as the primary front-line technical face of the organization, the successful candidate will own their schedule, manage critical client interactions directly, and master a unique, proprietary technology footprint.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform software and hardware preventive and corrective maintenance on computerized electro-mechanical systems.
  • Respond to emergency break-fix service calls to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair physical components and trace electrical circuits.
  • Refine and validate PLC coding (specifically Allen-Bradley systems) during onsite deployments.
  • Partner closely with client facilities to schedule appropriate downtime for required maintenance activities.
  • Manage follow-ups on open issues, tickets, and technical escalations to ensure rapid resolution.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all field paperwork, administrative reports, expenses, and timesheets.
  • Adapt to flexible scheduling, including working outside of normal business hours when required to service business-critical products.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of direct field service experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing complex computerized electro-mechanical systems, conveyors, or industrial automation setups.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a highly visible service capacity with direct, high-touch customer interaction.
  • Practical technical agility and a strong grasp of physical mechanical adjustments and electrical diagnostics.
  • Experience programming, refining, or validating Allen-Bradley PLCs is considered a strong asset.
  • A technical diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical, computer, or biomedical engineering is a plus, though practical troubleshooting capability and quick learning agility are highly valued.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Must own a reliable vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to manage the rigorous demands of approximately 80% regional travel to client sites.
  • Ability to successfully complete standard pre-employment background checks and drug screening protocols.
  • A stable career history demonstrating long-term operational commitment rather than frequent job transitions.
Rewards:
  • Competitive base salary of $70,000 - $85,000 per annum, reflective of experience and technical skill.
  • Premium mileage reimbursement rate of $0.72 per mile for all field travel.
  • Comprehensive Medical, RX, Dental, and Vision benefits package.
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
  • Company-paid Life/AD&D insurance, Short-Term Disability (STD) plans, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • 401(k) retirement plan featuring an employer match.
  • Highly autonomous, 100% remote delivery model supported by localized office infrastructure in Fort Myers, New York City, and San Antonio.
