Job Purpose and Impact

The Delivery Manager is accountable for the performance of the data platform delivery teams. This role supports portfolio and project management practices to support consistent, predictable delivery for Cargill's data platform. This position coordinates execution by managing dependencies, monitoring delivery progress, and enabling teams to work effectively. While this role does not define product strategy or vision, it ensures alignment, readiness, and successful execution of planned work.  The role also proactively provides visibility into commitments, risks, and progress to engineering leadership and business stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities
  • Collaborate with business leadership to define program objectives, shape the transformation roadmap, and prioritize initiatives based on strategic, financial, and organizational considerations, supporting progress toward established goals.
  • Facilitate strategic prioritization discussions with senior leaders, helping ensure trade-offs are understood and decisions support execution readiness.
  • Support flow and predictability by coordinating execution, managing cross-team dependencies, and promoting clarity around timelines and deliverables.
  • Use roadmaps as inputs to guide planning and alignment across teams, helping ensure work is sequenced and actionable. Support consistent execution practices by coaching teams and reinforcing effective delivery approaches.
  • Track and monitor delivery metrics and execution progress, identifying risks, supporting resolution of discrepancies, and promoting shared accountability across teams.
  • Establish and facilitate cross-functional project and program review forums, connecting execution progress, delivery outcomes, and financial performance to budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide guidance to project leads (including Scrum Masters where applicable) and support stakeholder engagement to maintain alignment and coordination across the portfolio.
  • Support teams implement change management activities to support transformation initiatives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of portfolio and project management practices in alignment with company frameworks and governance standards.
  • Address complex execution, resource, and delivery challenges with appropriate judgment while escalating issues when needed.
  • Serves as the single point of accountability for delivery-related escalation, ramp-ups, ramp-downs, and cross-team coordination.
  • Drives scaled agile events across an organization of delivery teams.
  • Implement and maintain a delivery risk-management strategy enabling proactive decisions across the full lifecycle.
  • Uphold governance for delivery management, including change management, release management, and incident/problem management.
  • Support FinOps practices for the platform, including cost-allocation, and optimization initiatives.
Qualifications

Required 4 years of relevant experience, typically reflects 5 years or more.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in technology delivery, program management, or engineering management roles, with at least 3 years specifically leading in data.
  • Proven track record delivering complex data platform projects end-to-end (warehouse migrations, lakehouse build-outs, streaming pipelines, BI platform launches, or similar).
  • Strong working knowledge of the modern data stack, including at least several of: AWS Sagemaker Unified Studio, Snowflake, DBT, Airflow, Astronomer, Confluent, Kafka, Atlan, DataDog.
  • Deep experience in Agile, Scrum, Kanban methodologies; experience scaling Agile scorss multiple squads (SAFe experience a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, vendor contracts, and cross-functional stakeholders at Director/VP level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to interpret and use data (such as delivery metrics, financials, or timelines) to inform planning, identify risks, and improve outcomes.
