The Role

Sr. I&C Engineers at Stellix are technical leaders responsible for working closely with customers to support a wide range of engineering scopes focused on control systems design, installation, and implementation across various DCS & PLC platforms.

What You Will Do
  • Technical I&C site lead with ownership of customer site relationships (satisfaction, on time delivery, service and quality).
  • Support specification of instrumentation, control system equipment and misc. materials based on defined customer needs for assigned projects and proposals.
  • Generate scopes of work and procure vendor bids for assigned projects or proposals.
  • Manage and provide direction to site vendors to maintain project schedule.
  • Review OEM/vendor submittals for adherence to customer standards and defined controls guidelines.
  • Lead and/or execute pre-FAT/FAT on OEM or customer supplied equipment.
  • Lead and/or execute site startup activities (loop checks/commissioning).
  • Generate and manage loop check/commissioning documentation.
  • Generate and manage project punchlists to completion.
  • Capable of troubleshooting traditional analog and discrete signals as well as other communication types (HART, Fieldbus, Profibus, DeviceNet, AS-I, Ethernet I/P, Modbus).
  • Capable of utilizing various handheld testing devices to support control loop testing and/or troubleshooting of wiring and connectivity issues.
  • Utilize DCS/PLC platform software to support troubleshooting (e.g. DeltaV Diagnostics, AMS Device Manager)
  • Support I&C engineering (FEED) studies based on customer requests.
  • Work with sales team to lead proposal efforts by assisting with I&C estimates, site walkdowns, scope write-ups and preliminary BOM generation.
  • Provide feedback to the organization of site opportunities.
  • Responsible for providing uncompromising quality to all work processes in designated area of responsibility.
  • Has the authority to stop those work processes at any time it is believed that quality is being compromised.
  • Performs other duties as assigned; responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
  • Physical demands: Lifting up to 50 lbs.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related engineering field or equivalent OTJ experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering or related field.
  • Ability to perform as part of a team.
  • Appropriate and professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining project commitments.
  • Solid written, organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, with multiple and changing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of the basic concepts of process control theory.
  • Ability to interpret P&ID’s, electrical schematics, loop drawings and general equipment arrangement drawings.
  • Understanding of DCS/PLC physical layer and control hardware (DeltaV specific preferred).
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD software.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Products. (Excel, Word, Access, Project)
Not Required, but Preferred Qualifications
  • DCS/PLC programming preferred, but not required.
  • Some understanding of DeltaV software physical layer configuration a plus, but not required.
  • Experience working with cGMP or in a validated environment a plus, but not required.
  • Understanding of hazardous area and intrinsic safety design a plus, but not required.

This position will offer a starting salary between $130k and $155K.
