About the Job:
Are you an engineer that enjoys connecting with people. We are looking for a Sales Engineer Intern that can leverage their technical acumen to develop new business opportunities in niche, highly regulated industries. This internship opportunity is open to all engineering majors.  
Join our collaborative, high-energy team at RD Rubber Technology Corporation in Santa Fe Springs, CA. RD Rubber Technology Corporation offers a 6-12-month paid internship. The internship program exposes interns to work on assignments that will expand their knowledge from their college courses and provides students with a professional work environment and hands-on experiences. This position is onsite, and the Intern is expected to work a minimum of 15 to 25 hours per week.
In this role, you will be responsible for engagement in tailored market research and business development.  The career path for this individual is to obtain a full-time business development role upon graduation.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct market research in niche market segments.
  • Understand customer requirements and provide technical expertise to potential clients.
  • Deliver product presentation through a digital platform or in-person.
  • Work with internal engineering team, production and customer service.
  • Answer technical questions.
  • Conduct outbound outreach via-email and other channels calls to potential new customers to generate new business opportunities.
  • Build and nurture relationships with prospective new customers.
  • Present company, capability, and product information, via phone, email, or video demonstrations.
  • Maintain accurate records of business development activities, customer interactions, and follow-ups in company systems.
  • Maintain and update customer prospect logs.
  • Support the planning and execution of business development events.
  • Comfortable working across different types of teams.
  • Results driven and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent writing, copy editing and creation, and research skills, with the ability to produce focused, polished materials to prospective customers.

Upon successful completion of the internship program, the candidate will be evaluated as a full-time employee. A full-time candidate would attend occasional industry conferences as needed.
Registrations and Certifications: ISO 9001:2015, AS9100:2016, DOD Joint Certification Program (JCP), NIST 800-171, ITAR and CMMC Level 2 self-assessment.
