POSITION SUMMARY:

As a UPS Field Service Engineer based in the Colombus area, you’ll be the frontline expert handling start-up, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and related critical power equipment. This is a field-based role with home dispatch.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Commission, maintain, and provide emergency support for UPS and power electronic systems at customer sites
  • Conduct design reviews and prepare testing procedures and reports
  • Execute on-site equipment start-up, preventive maintenance, and modifications
  • Travel to headquarters periodically for training on OEM systems and standard procedures
  • Collaborate with technical support teams to troubleshoot issues
  • Help develop and execute Methods of Procedure (MOPs)
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and customer expectations
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3–5+ years of experience in the critical power industry
  • Proficient in troubleshooting UPS, batteries, PDU, STS, etc., down to component level
  • Experience with OEMs like Liebert/Emerson/Vertiv, APC/MGE/Schneider, or Eaton/Powerware preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. and work nights/weekends as needed
  • Competent with hand tools, test equipment, and software applications
  • Ability to work independently and think critically in the field
  • Timely completion of Field Service Reports

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Technical degree or relevant certifications
  • Prior military technical experience
  • Experience with third-party UPS servicing
EDUCATION:
  • Graduate of a two-year accredited technical program
    OR
  • 3–5 years of hands-on technician experience in the power electronics or related field

The pay range for this role is:

78,000 - 87,000 USD per year (Columbus, Ohio)
