We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our team as a Mover. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient loading, unloading, packing, and delivery of furniture to our valued customers' homes, as well as handling shipments within our warehouse. The ideal candidate should possess physical strength, excellent teamwork skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the driver in safely loading and unloading furniture and household goods onto and off the moving truck, ensuring items are properly secured and protected during transit.
  • Pack and wrap furniture items securely to prevent damage during transportation, utilizing appropriate padding, blankets, and packing materials.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor while interacting with customers during the delivery process.
  • Safely operate dollies, hand trucks, and other equipment to move heavy and bulky items, ensuring personal and team safety at all times.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the truck's interior and exterior, as well as the warehouse, to ensure a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Load and unload shipments within the warehouse, ensuring accurate item count, proper storage, and efficient organization.
  • Follow company policies and procedures for handling fragile or valuable items, and communicate any potential issues or concerns to the Operations Manager, General Manager, or Warehouse Manager.
  • Assist in inventory management by accurately recording item counts, identifying damaged items, and notifying the appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Assist Driver with all backing/maneuvers of the truck.
  • Adhere to schedules and timelines to ensure on-time deliveries and pick-ups, demonstrating punctuality and dependability.
  • Perform any and all duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in furniture moving, warehouse operations, or a related field is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of packing techniques and materials to ensure the safe transport of items.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing tasks.
  • Capacity to work effectively within a team and contribute to a positive work atmosphere. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to independently lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, stand, and other physical movements is required.

  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
