Are you a compassionate individual looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals during their healthcare journey? If so, join Care Initiatives as a Van Driver, where you will provide comprehensive care that truly matters. With over forty (40) skilled nursing, assisted living, and independent living communities across Iowa, we are committed to providing exceptional care and support at every stage of the healthcare journey.
As a Van Driver on our team, you will have the opportunity to apply your skills and demonstrate your compassion, positively influencing the lives of our residents. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our residents and their loved ones.
What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and special events
  • Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement
  • Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs
  • Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff
  • Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle (fuel, fluids, basic supplies)
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs
  • Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
  • Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Valid Driver's License with Class D - Chauffeur Endorsement
  • Not more than 2 traffic violations within the last 3 years
  • No previous driving while under the influence convictions
  • CPR and first aide certification or willingness to accomplish
