Job description

Driver Position

With minimal supervision, this position is responsible for facilitating pick-ups and deliveries to our customers using a company vehicle, which may include traveling outside of the local area and overnight stays as required.

Key Responsibilities

Provide excellent service to our customers.

Assist shipping and receiving, unloading and loading trucks, and checking in equipment/parts/supplies.

Must possess a valid CDL license with a positive driving record.

Possess current DOT physical as defined by the Department of Transportation.

Must pass all random Drug Tests required by Human Resources.

Maintain constant communication with Logistics, Management and facility associates.

Ensure that DOT requirements such as load weight limits, daily driver log books, Vehicle Inspection Records, transportation permits, insurance cards, fuel trip reports, IFTA fuel stickers and all other necessary paperwork are up to date and valid.

Comply with all laws regarding truck driving rules and regulations: size, weight, route designations, parking, meal and break periods.

Responsible for daily inspections of the trailers/vehicles for proper working equipment per DOT/Federal Motor Carrier regulations including fluid levels, tire pressure, equipment failures, etc. And reporting all issues to Management immediately.

Adhere to all safety procedures/ policies while driving including obeying city speed limits, height limits and lane specifications, using hands-free devices, etc.

Proper operation of all equipment and adhere to safety regulations, including but not limited to: Lift truck, hand trucks, pallet jack, dolly, and forklift to convey, move or hoist materials to proper areas.

Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to trucks, shipping or other designated areas.

Assembling customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets/shelves, relocating to holding areas, and build out shipping pallets for transport.

Perform facilities maintenance duties including but not limited to sweeping, dusting, mopping, and trash disposal in facilities, as well as inside company vehicles.

Maintaining the security of trailers but securing/locking of company vehicles while traveling.

Receive proper signatures for required documentation, signed BOLs, etc.

Establish, maintain, and foster positive harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Professional appearance and uniform when interacting with customers, vendors and facilities.

Appropriate use for company credit card for company approved expenses: gas, lodging, etc.

Completion of all assigned training.

Complete other duties as assigned by management, including training new associates, or learning new skills to be efficient for the team.

Must be available to work different shifts including night shift.
