Job description

Box Truck Driver

A Box Truck Driver is responsible for transporting automotive parts, tires, oil, and shop supplies between distribution centers, vendors, and Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers store locations. This role ensures timely, accurate, and safe deliveries while maintaining compliance with company standards and transportation regulations.

  • Safe Operation of Box Truck: Operate and drive a box truck in a safe and professional manner, following all traffic laws, DOT regulations (if applicable), and company policies. Maintain control of the vehicle in various road and weather conditions.
  • Loading & Unloading: Load and unload tires, oil, parts, and other materials using proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment (hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.). Secure cargo to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
  • Delivery & Route Management: Complete scheduled delivery routes to multiple store locations, ensuring accurate and timely drop-offs and pick-ups.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Verify quantities and product types against delivery paperwork. Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies promptly.
  • Vehicle Inspections & Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, checking tires, brakes, lights, fluid levels, and overall vehicle condition. Report any mechanical issues immediately.
  • Customer & Store Interaction: Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with store team members, vendors, and distribution staff.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, delivery paperwork, and any required DOT documentation. Adhere to all safety, regulatory, and company requirements.
Qualifications
    • Must be 21 years of age or older
    • Valid Driver's License (Class C minimum; CDL a plus depending on vehicle size)
    • Minimum 1 year of driving experience in a delivery or commercial vehicle preferred
    • Clean Motor Vehicle Record for the past 5 years
    • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75–100 pounds
    • Ability to load and unload materials safely and efficiently
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
    • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
