East River Medical Imaging (ERMI) is an independent radiology center serving patients and referring providers for over four decades. With locations on Manhattan's Upper East Side and White Plains, ERMI is known for advanced technology, top-quality imaging services, and a warm, caring environment. Our team is dedicated to personalized, compassionate care that puts patients at ease and builds trusted, lasting relationships.
ERMI is now hiring an experienced Patient Financial Services Representative to join our team in the Upper East Side in Manhattan.
About the Role
We are seeking an individual with an exceptional background in Collections and Customer Service to join our Patient Financial Services team.
In this role, your expertise and dedication will be utilized for the following day-to-day responsibilities:
  • Ensure unpaid and partially paid balances are resolved efficiently, timely and within stated goals
  • Collect patient balances and establish payment plans as needed
  • Remind patients when payment plans are over-due
  • Answer phones, respond to inquiries and triage calls
  • Inform patients about the Patient Portal for registration and providing details of all services available
  • Coordinate efforts with other internal teams
  • Fulfill clerical responsibilities which may include sending/receiving/scanning medical records, hospital notes & referral information.
  • Other Duties as assigned

About You
You'd be a great fit if you bring the following
  • 1 to 2 years of collection and billing experience in a physician-based office setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with patients and colleagues; and to respond in a tactful and professional manner
  • Multi-tasker, team player, problem solver
  • Commitment to follow HIPAA privacy and security standards
  • Organized, detail oriented, must display accuracy and thoroughness in specified responsibilities
  • Proficiency using a Windows-based computer and standard business applications including MS Excel, Word, and Internet Explorer/Chrome.
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees
  • Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail
