Job description

Description
We have a great opportunity for a Scanning Coordinator to be part of our newest store here on Long Island! Our Port Washington Store is seeking a FT Scanning Coordinator who will be responsible for leading a team of Scanning Clerks, managing price changes, POS, and performing aisle scanning. This individual will greet all customers and provide them with prompt, courteous service and assistance.
Responsibilities
  • Will lead a team of Scanning Clerks
  • Accurately complete all weekly price changes transmitted to the store file from Uncle Giuseppe's to include both checking for and correcting any discrepancies
  • Maintain the accuracy of the pricing file to match weekly sales, circulars and/or newspaper ads
  • Maintain UPC program by separating, sorting, and properly placing UPC tags
  • Maintain pricing integrity on the sales floor by ensuring that all items are properly signed, tagged, and scanned correctly
  • Check prices and be knowledgeable about location of items in the store
  • Perform weekly aisle Scanning audits to ensure accuracy of pricing file
  • Maintains adequate and appropriate department records at all times. Updates pricing log changes weekly.
  • Other duties and functions as assigned

Requirements
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have prior experience working in a grocery store scanning department
  • Must understand the POS system and how to enter price changes into a store system
  • Great communication skills are a must in order to work collaboratively with store management
  • Must speak, read and communicate in the English language

Working Conditions
  • Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
  • Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
  • There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects/industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and functions.
