Job Description

As a Security Officer Patrol Driver in Charlottesville, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a utilities location, you will conduct routine patrols, support access control activities, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. This driving position requires a valid driver's license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity.

Pay Rate: $18.54 / Hour

What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or utility personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and/or unauthorized access.
  • Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, maintain required logs, and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Document patrol activities, incidents, and unusual conditions accurately and promptly in accordance with site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
