Job Summary/Description:  

WRDW-WAGT has an opening for a Digital News Content Producer. The Digital News Content Producer drives real-time, multi-platform coverage by gathering, verifying, packaging, and publishing content for web, app, social, and streaming.

Duties/responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

What You'll Do:

- Publish and continuously update breaking news and daily coverage on the web/app with strong headlines, SEO, and clean copy.
- Clip and package video for digital platforms (social, OTT/streaming, web players) with accurate context and strong writing.
- Write push alerts and coordinate urgent coverage across platforms in collaboration with newsroom leadership.
- Monitor scanners, social, UGC, and official sources; verify information and clearly communicate what’s confirmed vs. developing.
- Engage audiences thoughtfully: respond to tips, elevate community voices responsibly, and support community connection.
- Produce and edit vertical videos for various digital platforms.
- Maintain digital publishing standards (accuracy, attribution, ethics, legal/standards compliance).
- Collaborate with producers/reporters/photographers to plan coverage, optimize story formats, and execute live/event coverage.
- Train and learn to operate the newsroom streaming live digital desk. An ideal candidate will be comfortable being live on camera, presenting scripted and especially unscripted information during breaking news.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Proven ability to verify information and avoid amplification of rumors/misinformation.
- Basic video editing/clipping skills (e.g., Premiere, CapCut, ENPS/Edius workflows, or similar) are a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights/weekends/holidays as news requires.
