Job Summary

Southern Company Services is seeking an Infrastructure Operations Center (IOC) Analyst to provide 24x7 monitoring and first-level support for enterprise computing systems, mainframe environments, and production applications. The successful candidate will monitor critical infrastructure, perform incident diagnosis and resolution, support disaster recovery processes, and work closely with internal teams and external vendors to maintain system availability and operational excellence.

This is a hybrid position. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of one of the listed office locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor enterprise computing systems, mainframe environments, and production applications.
  • Perform first-level troubleshooting and incident resolution for Windows, Linux/UNIX, and IBM Mainframe environments.
  • Monitor and support batch processing using Jobtrac, AutoSys, and Control-M.
  • Respond to application failures (abends) and restore production services.
  • Monitor backup and disaster recovery processes for critical business applications.
  • Analyze system alerts, document incidents, and maintain detailed operational records.
  • Coordinate issue resolution with infrastructure teams, vendors, and service providers.
  • Support continuous process improvement and operational documentation.
  • Participate in a 24x7 operations environment, including on-call and occasional extended hours.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or 5+ years of relevant infrastructure operations experience.
  • Experience supporting enterprise computing systems and/or IBM Mainframe environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Windows, UNIX/Linux, and enterprise infrastructure monitoring.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced 24x7 operations environment.
