Job Description

This position is responsible for solving data integration challenges using Informatica as the data integration platform. He/she will be involved in understanding the data integration and transformational requirements as laid by the business requirement / data architect and convert those into ETL routines using Informatica.  He/She would be responsible for the development of routines, preparing test cases and testing the ETL jobs for the data validation. He/she will be responsible for checking the accuracy of the mappings through reconciling the source, target systems and any rejects. Should provide guidance to the junior members of the team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop ETL routines with Informatica 9.1/9.5
  • Develop test cases for the ETL mappings and prepare test scripts in line with the data integration/transformation requirements
  • To script SQL queries in the source and target system in order to ensure data validation/data reconciliation
  • Develop ETL routines for OLTP and BI systems and develop mappings for facts and scd1/2 dimensions
  • Profile the data with tool and SQL queries to identify the data which does not conform to business rule and database integrity
  • Scheduling of the ETL jobs through scheduler and scripts to ensure  the correct data flow sequence
  • Performance tuning of the mapping as per the batch load timings

Requirements for position:

General qualifications & experience:

Education:  BE/B.Tech in Engineering discipline

Around   7-8 years of experience in following work areas:

  • ETL development using Informatica 9.1/9.5 and  detailed knowledge of different features of the tool to handle data transformation requirement
  • Should have worked in data warehousing and data migration project with large scale data transformation, knowledge of ETL development procedures
  • Knowledge of data profiling techniques for data analysis using SQL and ETL tool
  • Extremely good at SQL
  • Very good knowledge of the database structures/systems and proficient in writing complex SQL routines
  • Experience of performance tuning of ETL mappings
  • Knowledge of ETL schedulers and basic knowledge of Unix shell scripting
  • Knowledge of SDLC and quality processes to be followed in a data integration project - prepare test plan , test cases and test scripts and reviews
