This position is a member of the Systems Administration team that performs Echelon 1 and Echelon 2 responsibilities for two different programs.  The individual supporting this effort is responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining Linux workstations and servers in support of development and operational systems requirements.  This individual will perform installations and upgrades for UNIX operating systems and maintains them in accordance with established policies, procedures and agreements.  Individual will ensure Linux workstations and server data integrity by auditing, evaluating and implementing and managing appropriate software solutions
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Writing and administering scripts for the gathering of automated system metrics; performing operational system help desk responsibilities providing quick/responsive solutions to development and operatonal issues and concerns.  
  • The position plans COTS SW and HW upgrades to meet program milestones and coordinates with other functional groups on systems upgrades and the integration of new capabilities.  
  • After-hours response to a page is periodically required.  Also, working some non-standard shifts might be required to support periodic system tests, baseline promotions and other mission critical activities.
  • Individual will be required to meet the Government required Information Assurance Workforce Enhancement Program requirements, at a minimum the CompTIA Security+ Certification at the time of employment.
  • Individual will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Individual will be based at 1666 Aurora CO - 17699 E Steamboat, 17699 E. Steamboat Ave., Aurora, CO, but may need to support other facilities as needed.

Experience/Skills : 

  • UNIX/Linux system administration
  • Working knowledge of Linux Clustering
  • Working knowledge of IBM AIX to include HACMP
  • Working knowledge of backup and restore applications, preferable Tivoli
  • Working knowledge of LDAP
  • Working knowledge of LDAP
  • Working knowledge of SAN
  • Knowledge of Cisco LAN switch command set
  • Working knowledge of Secscan/WASSP/SCAP and computer hardening principles
  • Oracle database familiarity
  • Ability to shell script, preferable Korn and C Shell
  • Problem solving skills
  • Project Management sskills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Security+ Certificate or other Information Assurance Certificates and/or Computing Environment (CE) Certifications.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
