The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Utah is seeking a Research Technician to join the Conrady Lab, which focuses on ocular immunology and infectious diseases and their impact on visual function.  The applicant will provide technical expertise to Dr. Conrady's growing lab.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
  • Mouse husbandry
  • Mouse handling
  • Mouse genotyping
  • Performing ERGs
  • Viral propogation 
  • Western blotting
  • Immunofluorescent staining
  • Tissue preparation and sectioning
  • DNA/RNA isolation
  • RT-PCR
  • Immune assays including ELISAs, flow cytometry, ect
  • Cell/tissue culture

Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

Research Technician, II: Requires at least 1 year of related experience.

Research Technician, III: Requires 3+ years of related experience.

Research Technician, IV: Requires 5+ years of related experience.
