JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for performing in an animated character role at Universal Kids Resort. Brings to life costume character roles through performance for Guests within the theme park or hotel. Participates in photo opportunities according to department guidelines. Performs as costume character for promotional appearances outside the resort as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES

  • Provides positive Guest interaction through emulation of a non-speaking character role, wearing a full costume, for Universal Kids Resort characters. Provides positive Guest interaction by participating in photo opportunities such as scheduled and/or unscheduled "appearance" sessions and activation events.
  • Maintains continuous focused energy providing fresh and on time performances at each appearance.
  • Ensures performances follow direction of character intent/guidelines and feedback by Entertainment Management. Applies show notes and consistently maintains performance.
  • Provides positive Guest interaction through a variety of responsibilities, including irregularly scheduled promotional appearances both on and off site per departmental guidelines.
  • Performs daily visual inspection of costume ensuring quality standards are met and provides communication to management addressing costume problems, concerns and issues.
  • Participates in daily physical maintenance onsite through stretching, warm-up routines, and exercise as assigned to support injury prevention.  
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • A minimum of 40-80 hours of directed rehearsals is required to take and pass annual Animated Fitness Test.
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Must be able to work a flexible and varying schedule based on business needs.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 6+ months of Guest Service or Performer experience is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
