Universal Horror Unleashed is a terrifyingly unique experience that will bring haunts to Las Vegas year-round. Located at Area 15 is the heart of horror - we would love to have you haunting alongside us! With the nature of this experience comes a unique working environment. You will find yourself working in dark environments around special effects including strobe lights, fog, artificial smells, and more. The working hours will be unique, typically spanning over late evenings/nights and weekends (holidays included). JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for management of Security Operations within Universal Horror Unleashed (UHU) and provides leadership to all Team Members within the Security team, overseeing all shifts, including 3rd shift and non-operating days. Serves as a key partner to other divisions' operational leaders as well as any third-party security and Las Vegas law enforcement, setting security standards in accordance with legal requirements and Universal Destinations and Experiences (UDX) standards. Key liaison for Area15 security partners, effectively communicating pressing information and enforcing Area15's rules and regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manages all Security operations for UHU including Team Member's performance as it relates to all aspects of Uniformed Security for both internal and third party, including oversight of Guest and Team Member screening.
  • Serves as the primary contact for all contracted security as well as Area15 Security & Las Vegas law enforcement to maintain security requirements, aligning with Nevada state law. Acts as law enforcement liaison for shared intelligence and coordination for emergency response and planning in partnership with tenant owner and UDX.
  • Responsible for enforcing all departmental policies as they pertain to the safety and security of Guests, Team Members, and company assets in alignment with UDX policies and procedures. Provides administration and management of automated and technical security systems and equipment designed to monitor, control, and safeguard Guests and Team Members, their property, and physical assets of UHU.
  • Manages Team Member ID badging and access, partnering with Digital & Technology for installation of Team Member verification check points, including 3rd party vendors and visitors. Partners with Human Resources for ID Badge distribution, access controls, and audits as required.
  • Leads in the successful application of all Emergency Management planning and implementation, effectively communicating these plans with all departmental leaders and Area15 leadership. 
  • Responsible for the successful execution of hiring, onboarding, and training validation for Security Team Members. Oversee weekly scheduling and monitoring staffing levels for the Security Operation.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Supervises a Non-Exempt team

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Vendor management experience is preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Required to successfully attend and pass all recurring mandatory/legal licenses and certifications as a condition of employment.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • 5+ years of security or investigations experience is required; 3+ years of management experience is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
