Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the facilities maintenance of Universal Kids Resort buildings and designated areas. Completes specific work orders, installations, routine/preventative maintenance and repairs as assigned including, but not limited to, masonry, tile, pavers, cubicle partitions, furniture, scenic paint, roofing, and woodwork. Handles daily repair and troubleshooting tasks from Technical Services leadership. Completes special projects and other shop work as directed by Facilities Management to uphold show quality and standards. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Responsible for the maintenance and repairs for rough in carpentry to include, but not limited to, framing, sheet goods, wood decking and dock work as well as repairing wood metal stud work, and trim work including various moldings, turnings, laminate application, cabinet work, and window and door installation. Consistently provides routine/preventative maintenance in efforts to minimize the number of major repairs required, escalating to Facilities Management to address any major venue concerns when necessary. Ensures work area is clean and safe with tools and materials stored in designated storage areas and materials properly disposed of.
  • Performs routine inspection and maintenance of seating, furniture, restroom stall doors and partitions. Completes repairs and finishing to various walkways and roadways throughout the resort. Manages the preparation and painting of designated areas across UKR by determining color, mixing paint, prepping surface by cleaning, scraping, caulking, applying, putty, and sanding and applying paint. Maintains scenic aesthetic through painting techniques to include brushing, rolling, blending, spraying, and faux finishing based off of original creative intent.
  • Responsible for the installation and repairs to exterior finishes including, but not limited to Dry-Vit, EIFIS and Stucco. Fabricates tooling (molds) when multiple parts are needed. Maintains the roof surfaces of buildings, performs roof, gutter/downspout, window leak and other water infiltration repairs and preventative maintenance, and completes specific work orders for masonry, tile, pavers, and woodwork.
  • Installs and makes repairs to interior wall, floor tiles, coverings made of various materials, and to various commercial hardware, including but not limited to, door closures, panic hardware, mortis and cylindrical locks. Assists with creating, installing and removing specialized signage throughout UKR which may require the use of a High Reach to access.
  • Enters follow-up work orders for all discrepancies found in a timely manner. Documents all findings and work performed throughout the process of troubleshooting and performing repairs. Reports on labor in Maximo for all work performed. Demonstrates the ability to acquire skills in additional disciplines to support a broader range of operational and project needs. 
  • Completes preventative maintenance and show quality checks across the theme park. Trains new Technicians to do work orders, recovery procedures, and processes. Assists with seasonal weather condition sustainment initiatives as directed. 
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Previous facility maintenance experience is preferred.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of experience in general carpentry, construction, or roofing is required, experience within a seasonal/regional theme park is a plus; or equivalent combination of education and experience
