Great bankers do more than manage accounts, they build trust, create opportunities, and help communities thrive. We're looking for a dynamic, customer-focused Universal Banker. This is a great opportunity to showcase your banking experience at a well-established branch.


Position Summary:

A Universal Banker is responsible for meeting customer needs by opening new deposit accounts and maintaining existing deposit account services as well as assisting with customer inquiries. The Universal Banker heavily supports River Bank's initiatives through the efforts of product/service promotion, establishing new customer relationships, and enhancing existing customer relationships.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Expert on River Bank's products and services to promote, sell, and cross-sell tailoring to customers needs.
  • Recognize customer investment needs and refer to Financial Advisor as appropriate.
  • Follow procedures for all deposit account activities ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulations.
  • Complete routine maintenance needs and updating customer changes on accounts as needed. 
  • Maintain privacy of all customer account information.
  • Complete general clerical and administrative duties as they relate to deposit account files, department, and general bank support.
  • Recognize and report any fraudulent or suspicious activity to your direct manager and/or Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) department.
  • Continue to develop skills in all areas of product knowledge, documentation, selling, and general banking.
  • Assists Tellers on frontline as needed.
  • Assist Branch Manager with employee training and mentoring as needed.
  • Travel to other branches as needed for Universal Banker/Teller coverage needs.
  • Assist with light housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.


Schedule Required: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years of customer service experience.
  • Two (2) years of cash handling experience.


Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Previous work experience in a bank setting.
  • Ability to be sales orientated while providing exceptional customer service to clients.
  • General understanding and comfort level with bank products and services and deposit account regulations in order to assist customers.
  • Knowledge in the differentiating account structures: including IRAs, HSAs, Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, Fiduciary Accounts, general account titling and personal and business account structures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a customer service environment requiring both face-to-face and phone-based support.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Sound personal computing skills.
