Job description

Unity Electric is looking for a full-time Electrical Service Technician to add to our team! We are a preferred contractor that performs line voltage and low voltage electrical service, design, and installation. We are based in north King County, Washington.


Position Summary:

The Service Technician will be working in health care facilities, mixed use properties, TI buildouts, and industrial sites. The role consists of 01 commercial work as well as low voltage fire alarm, access control, CCTV, security, and other low voltage installations. Projects range from service calls, special projects, to special systems.


On-Call Requirement:

Service Technicians are required to work on a rotating schedule to handle 24/7 emergency calls. Emergency service hours include weekends, holidays, and time outside of normal working hours. This is a mandatory requirement.


Service Technician Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Complete our service calls in a positive and professional manner, representing the company in a positive light and always offering exceptional customer service
  • Troubleshoot various electrical systems
  • Call in inspections
  • Complete required paperwork for each service call
  • Turn in SaS forms
  • Communicate with the service department about schedules, proposed work, and customer concerns (as needed)
  • Ensure the proper permits are in place to do the service work required
  • Be safe on the job at all times to avoid injury to employees and other individuals around the job site location and/or damage to the property, vehicles, or other areas of the job site


Required Qualifications:

  • Current Washington State electrical 01 Journeyman or Master Electrician license with a focus on low voltage
  • 1-2 years' minimum experience as an electrical 01 journeyman
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Willing to undergo a pre-employment drug screen, 7-year background check, and reference check if offer is extended
  • Willing and able to be on a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule for one week at a time
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with clients, as the Service Technician is the face of the company
  • Proven experience in commercial electrical work
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes
  • High proficiency using technology, as all jobs will require use of cell phones and specific software and apps
  • Ability to work independently and manage job site tasks
  • Diligence in being a task-oriented, self-motivated, highly organized individual
  • Must possess strong troubleshooting skills, have meticulous attention to detail, always work with a safety-focused mindset, and be an exceptional communicator
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a high level of productivity
  • Must be responsible with company-issued vehicles, property, and technology
  • Candidate must have a high level of fluency in written and spoken English


Desired Qualifications:

  • Would prefer 3+ years' experience as an electrical 01 journeyman
  • Experience with the following systems: fire alarm, nurse call, security/door access, data, and healthcare/assisted living experience
  • Strong knowledge and proficient use of Spectrum/Trimble/Traqspera software and Service Tech are highly desirable
  • Bilingual a plus


Performance Standards:

The person in this position will be evaluated bi-annually based on employee’s (last) hire date.

Rates of Pay:

  • Base pay $55.00-$58.00 per hour
  • Supplemental pay for emergency service calls
  • Company-issued service van, cell phone, Good-to-Go pass, and credit card for fuel and job site materials


Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. depending on department schedule (we do not offer a 4/10 schedule).
