• Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, including detailed pain assessments, to determine the causes of patients' pain through a holistic approach that considers physical, psychological, and social factors.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may integrate medical, pharmacological, interventional, and complementary therapies tailored to each patient's unique needs.
• Provide continuous care for chronic pain patients, aiming to improve functionality, reduce pain levels, and enhance their quality of life through ongoing monitoring and support.
• Address acute pain issues stemming from injuries, surgical procedures, or other medical conditions, utilizing a variety of evidence-based methodologies to promote effective healing and comfort.
• Prescribe and manage pain relief medications, ensuring a thorough understanding of benefits, risks, and patient preferences, while actively monitoring for therapeutic effectiveness and potential side effects.
• Oversee and perform interventional pain management procedures such as nerve blocks and epidural injections, working closely with other specialists when required.
• Educate patients on pain management techniques and self-care strategies to empower them to actively engage in their treatment plans.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate electronic health records (EHR) that document all patient interactions, assessments, and treatments in compliance with healthcare regulations.

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse patient population experiencing both chronic and acute pain conditions. These may include individuals suffering from back pain, arthritis, neuropathic pain, and postoperative pain, among others. A collaborative approach with multidisciplinary care teams enables us to address the intricacies of each patient's situation, ensuring comprehensive pain management tailored to individual needs.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, with completion of an accredited physician assistant program.
• Eligibility for, or possession of, an active Oregon state license to practice as a Physician Assistant.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) and demonstrated clinical experience in Pain Management or a related specialty.
• Strong understanding of current pain management practices, interventional techniques, and pharmacology.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and patient management.
• Critical thinking and diagnostic skills, with the ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and decisively.
• A commitment to lifelong learning to stay abreast of advancements in medical and pain management practices.

• Previous experience working in a hospital setting, particularly in Pain Management or related fields.
• Exposure to interventional pain management procedures, such as nerve blocks or epidurals.
• Familiarity with a multi-disciplinary care approach.
