Job description

Ignite Conversations in the Valley - Become a Speech Language Pathologist
Overview
What if your next career opportunity allowed you to literally give voice to purpose? As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of the Central Valley's thriving communities, you'll do much more than address communication and swallowing challenges; your work will foster potential, enhance confidence, and strengthen human relationships-supporting everyone from children pronouncing their first sounds to older adults regaining their self-sufficiency.
This position offers a rare chance to impact individuals from every walk of life in a setting that harmoniously merges outpatient therapy with sporadic inpatient support. Whether your expertise lies in pediatric language progression, adult communicative disorders arising from neurological conditions, or geriatric cognitive rehabilitation, you'll discover satisfaction and adaptability here.
Description
  • Conduct assessments of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized measures and observational techniques.
  • Create tailored treatment strategies that meet immediate and enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Engage in one-on-one speech therapy sessions aimed at improving communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to formulate integrated care plans.
  • Deliver education for patients and their families to facilitate advancement beyond clinical appointments.
  • Contribute to sporadic inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring seamless care continuity throughout the therapy journey.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Stay updated on innovations in the field through continuous education and teamwork with peers.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hiring.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies applicable to all age groups, with a solid understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills that foster effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to tailor therapy approaches to align with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical insights and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Comfort with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary reflective of experience.
  • Flexible scheduling that promotes work-life balance and a diverse range of caseloads.
  • Paths for specialization in pediatrics, adult neurological rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options available.
  • Reimbursement for ongoing education and support for professional growth.
  • A collaborative atmosphere centered on quality care and lifelong learning.

A Career That Moves with You - and Moves You
In this position, you won't merely deliver speech therapy - you'll join a mission to restore voices, enhance communication, and create joyful moments through the simplest yet profound acts of understanding and connection.
You'll work alongside professionals who treat one another like family, in an environment that prioritizes collaboration over competition. Every patient carries a story; we entrust you with the opportunity to influence how that narrative unfolds.
Why You'll Love Living and Working Here
In this part of the Central Valley, there exists a vibrant lifestyle that unites the innovation of modern times with the warmth of genuine hospitality. Nestled in a region known for its agriculture and charm, this area offers a serene blend of natural beauty and urban convenience.
Families convene in lush parks for music events and recreational outings, while outdoor enthusiasts embrace hiking trails, paddle in tranquil lakes, or spend leisurely weekends at local markets. Culinary aficionados relish a spectrum of flavors, from street tacos to gourmet meals showcased at renowned bistros.
The artistic soul of this community is expressed in every street art piece, resonates in live music venues, and flourishes during festivals that celebrate diversity and unity. For professionals, the perks extend beyond lifestyle - tax advantages, a manageable cost of living, and a flourishing healthcare network make this locale an ideal place for career advancement and personal growth.
No matter if you're embarking on your career or looking to branch out as a seasoned clinician, this region allows room to thrive and evolve - both personally and professionally.
Who We're Looking For
We're in search of a Speech Language Pathologist driven by compassion as well as results. Someone who observes a timid child and imagines a future brimming with self-expression, who listens to the staggered words of a stroke survivor and perceives resilience.
You might be a pediatric expert longing to expand into adult therapy - or a clinician focused on neurological disorders eager to integrate early intervention practices.
Whatever your specialty, if you're prepared to serve wholeheartedly and demonstrate your skills, we're eager to have you on board.
Let's Find the Right Words - Together
If you believe that speech transcends mere sounds and therapy encompasses more than tasks - if you value the importance of establishing trust before tackling challenges, and laughter alongside language - then this could be the perfect next chapter in your career.
