Job description

  1. Education: Refer to the Personnel Standards of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 which states at least a B.S. degree in a Biological, Physical or Chemical Science or a Clinical Laboratory Science program.
  1. Training and Experience: Refer to the Personnel Standards of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988. On the job training is possible for certain candidates meeting the minimum educational requirements.
  1. Job Knowledge: Qualifies as Testing Personnel under the Personnel Standards of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 under indirect supervision of the Clinical Laboratory Director. Job knowledge commensurate with educational experience.
  1. Safety Sensitive: YES

In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all patients, associates, and guests, Unity Health has classified some positions as "safety sensitive." A "safety sensitive" position is any job position in which impaired performance could result in harm to the health and/or safety of self or others. DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for performing and reporting results of all diagnostic tests offered by White County Medical Center Laboratory while participating in QA, IC, Safety QCI, and proficiency testing programs as required by OSHA and CLIA 88. This position requires knowledge in the care of patients served as indicated: Neonate and infant birth up to one year, Childhood and Adolescence is one year to 17 years, Adult is 18 to 65 years and Geriatric is 65 years and above. Proficiency in phlebotomy must be maintained.
M-F 1000-1830 rotating weekends
