Job Description

CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Senior QA Analyst to join our Boston Hub working on Cyberpunk 2, the next game in the Cyberpunk franchise. In this role, you will focus on ensuring the highest gameplay quality by identifying, analyzing, and verifying issues. You will collaborate closely with designers, programmers, artists, and the broader QA team to maintain gameplay consistency, technical integrity, and player engagement throughout the game's development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of complex test strategies and test plans for large-scale gameplay systems, features, and art implementation.
  • Collaborate with developers and designers during feature development, providing early input on potential quality risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze and identify gaps in test coverage through defect KPIs, proactively improving test effectiveness across product systems and adjusting test case coverage through data as needed.
  • Execute and document root cause analysis on escape issues or repeated defects.
  • Contribute to the planning and strategy of automation efforts.
  • Work as embedded QA on Agile teams to develop and maintain clear test cases and checklists.
  • Monitor ongoing game development and assess the impact of changes, offering guidance to QA teams to ensure continued coverage and consistency.
  • Review, refine, develop and own test documentation created by QA team members and specialists to maintain project standards.
  • Serve as a bridge between QA and development teams, ensuring that quality goals are clearly communicated and met across departments.
  • Prepare detailed reports and actionable insights on test outcomes, presenting key findings to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support junior QA Analysts and Specialists, promoting knowledge sharing and adherence to QA best practices.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to influence project decision-making and align QA objectives with broader production goals.
  • Gain knowledge of other project areas and support QA and development teams as needed.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience working in a QA or similar role, with at least 1-2 years in a senior or leadership capacity.
  • Proven experience in creating and executing test plans and strategies for complex gameplay systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate quality risks during all stages of development.
  • Experience documenting test processes and bugs using tools like JIRA, TestRail, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of gameplay systems and software interactions.
  • Strong ability to analyze experiences and provide meaningful, constructive feedback to development teams.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to approach problem-solving with attention to detail and clarity.
  • Familiarity with various commercial game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) and testing within the editors for those engines.
  • Passion for video games and gameplay systems in narrative-driven RPGs.

Estimated pay range for this position: $79,200 - $130,700 USD annually
