From earthquake and seismic engineering to the latest trenchless technology methods, Kleinfelder's Geotechnical Services support the planning, engineering, and construction of complex projects, and our specialists are leading experts in their fields. 

Step into Your New Role 

Kleinfelder is seeking a motivated and experienced Geotechnical Project Manager to support our growing practice in Oklahoma (Tulsa or Oklahoma City). Our team delivers geotechnical expertise for complex transportation, oil and gas, power, and water infrastructure projects across the region and nationwide.

The Geotechnical Project Manager will lead and manage geotechnical projects, coordinate with internal and external teams, and support client engagement and business development initiatives. This role includes technical design responsibilities, project oversight, proposal development, and mentorship technical staff. The successful candidate will ensure highquality deliverables, strong client communication, and adherence to scopes, schedules, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage geotechnical engineering projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct and oversee geotechnical analyses, design activities, and engineering evaluations.
  • Plan and manage subsurface exploration programs and assign laboratory testing.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications for a wide range of project types.
  • Guide and mentor staff in material characterization, slope stability, settlement, seepage, and related analyses.
  • Oversee field observations, testing, and site visits.
  • Support and foster strong client relationships, provide project updates, and assist with strategic pursuits.
  • Lead and contribute to proposal development and business growth.
  • Collaborate with civil design teams to develop practical, costeffective solutions.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and priorities effectively.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
  • Proven experience in geotechnical design, including shallow, mat, and deep foundations; retaining structures; slope stability; and major earthwork projects.
  • Pavement design experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading diverse project teams and supporting business development efforts.
  • Advanced degree in geotechnical engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain an Oklahoma PE within 6 months.

Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.
