Lead the Future of AI-Enabled Digital Engineering

The One 23 Group is building the next generation of AI-enabled software platforms that combine Modeling & Simulation, Digital Twins, Artificial Intelligence, cloud-native architectures, and immersive 3D visualization to transform how government organizations analyze, predict, and optimize mission operations.


We are seeking an experienced Digital Engineering & AI Manager to lead the development of these next-generation capabilities.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for leading software engineering teams, defining scalable solution architectures, contributing to our product roadmap, and delivering innovative software solutions that support national security missions.


Working alongside software engineers, AI specialists, simulation developers, data engineers, and visualization experts, you will help build intelligent, cloud-native applications that solve complex operational challenges for Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, and Federal Civilian customers.

Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering Leadership
  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams including Software Engineers, AI Engineers, Modeling & Simulation Engineers, Data Engineers, and Unity developers.
  • Foster a collaborative engineering culture focused on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish software engineering standards, architectural best practices, and development processes.
  • Provide technical guidance throughout the software development lifecycle.
Software Architecture & Product Development
  • Design scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise software solutions.
  • Contribute to the technical roadmap for O23G's Digital Engineering and AI product portfolio.
  • Help evolve Modeling & Simulation capabilities into intelligent Digital Twin environments.
  • Guide architectural decisions involving cloud-native applications, APIs, data pipelines, cybersecurity, and AI integration.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend new capabilities that strengthen our software offerings.
Product Delivery
  • Translate customer requirements into technical solutions and product capabilities.
  • Partner with Agile development teams to define priorities, sprint objectives, and release plans.
  • Support software testing, verification & validation (V&V), DevSecOps, and continuous delivery practices.
  • Balance technical innovation with customer needs, schedule, and business priorities.
Customer & Business Growth
  • Collaborate directly with government customers to understand operational challenges and technology needs.
  • Support technical solutioning, demonstrations, white papers, proposals, and capture activities.
  • Present technical concepts and software capabilities to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Work closely with executive leadership to identify future technology investments and market opportunities.
Requirements:Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, systems architecture, product development, or enterprise software delivery.
  • 3+ years leading software engineering teams or serving as a senior technical lead.
  • Experience designing scalable enterprise software applications using modern development frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Software Architecture
    • Distributed Systems
    • Cloud Computing (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
    • APIs and Microservices
    • DevSecOps
    • Agile Software Development
  • Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:

  • Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Generative AI
  • Large Language Models (LLMs), AI Agents, or intelligent automation
  • Modeling & Simulation (M&S)
  • Digital Engineering or Digital Twin technologies
  • Unity 3D or other immersive visualization platforms
  • Python, C#, C++, Java, or similar programming languages
  • Data engineering, analytics, and visualization
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Government, Defense, Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, or Federal Civilian environments
  • Active Secret, Top Secret, TS/SCI, DHS, or other U.S. Government security clearance
