Are you ready to be challenged, make a difference, and experience professional growth in your career? Kleinfelder's Land Survey team is looking for you! Kleinfelder is currently seeking a Professional Land Surveyor licensed in Michigan to perform a variety of tasks associated with land surveying, civil engineering and construction inspection. This position will work remotely on projects in Michigan and report to our Perrysburg, OH office.  

Step into Your New Role 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Senior Surveyor with project proposals, performance reviews, survey calculations, and project research.
  • Advise survey crews on surveying methods and techniques, enhancing project efficiency.
  • Conduct boundary determinations and prepare accurate survey documents, including ALTA surveys and records of survey.
  • Create and analyze parcel maps, water rights maps, and topographical surveys.
  • Support field teams by calculating points and providing construction staking as needed.
  • Collaborate with clients and team members on diverse survey projects, ensuring clear communication and quality outcomes.
  • Provide project scopes, timelines, and control location recommendations to support project execution.
  • Develop charts and reports to effectively communicate specific issues or discrepancies with survey data.
  • Mentor junior staff and assist in project management.
  • Provide support to survey crew for verifying boundary lines, and performing topographic, right-of-way, transportation, construction surveys and construction inspection as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in surveying or a related field or substantial relevant experience in surveying.
  • 5 years of comprehensive survey experience, including significant field and office work.
  • Local or regional surveying experience is preferred.
  • Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Michigan.
  • Ability to obtain background clearances for on-site work with clients.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and outstanding attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, and other relevant surveying software.
  • Strong capability to train staff in the operation of basic survey instruments.
  • Current/valid State Driver's License with demonstrated safe driving practices.
