This summary provides a listing of the knowledge, skills, and abilities that are critical components of the position of First Officer.

General

This position guarantees a minimum of seventy-two (72) flight hours per month and reports directly to the Chief Pilot. The ideal candidate will hold a valid FAA ATP certificate, First-Class Medical Certificate, and be type-rated on multi-engine aircraft (B-737 type rating preferred). Candidates must demonstrate a strong working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), excellent communication skills, and the ability to uphold Eastern Air Express’s values in a fast-paced operational environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The First Officer (FO) supports the Captain in ensuring the safe and efficient conduct of every flight:
  • Assist the Captain with the safe operation of the aircraft, passengers, cargo, and crew.
  • Perform flight duties as delegated by the Captain and assume command if the Captain becomes incapacitated.
  • Maintain awareness of Captain responsibilities and accept delegated authority as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all FARs, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain a current First-Class Medical Certificate and report any condition affecting flight fitness.
  • Uphold professionalism, teamwork, and clear communication across all phases of flight.

Qualifications

  • 2,000 hours total flight time, including at least 500 hours in turbojet aircraft.
  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
  • FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Valid passport with worldwide travel eligibility.
  • English proficiency at ICAO Level 4 or higher.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Strong record of safety and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Narrow-body aircraft experience.
  • Crew Resource Management (CRM) training/experience.

In addition:

  • Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to work schedules bid by seniority, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Extensive travel required.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug testing, alcohol testing, and criminal history records check (CHRC).


LOCATION:

You must live within 2 hours from either Miami International Airport or Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.
