Required Qualifications:
  • An active/current TS/SCI Security Clearance is required.
  • Bachelors degree in engineering (or similar technical field) and twelve years relevant experience; Masters degree and ten years of relevant experience. 16 years of relevant experience in the above-cited duties may be substituted in lieu of a completed higher education degree.
  • CCNP Collaboration or CCNP Enterprise.
  • DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), WebEx, and Teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in mission‑critical operational environments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Cisco Unified Communications specializations (CUCM, Unity Connection, etc).
  • ITIL 4 Foundation.
  • CCNP Security.
  • Experience supporting the latest Cisco CUCM releases.
  • Experience with Cisco Expressway Control and Expressway Edge deployments.
  • Familiarity with hybrid collaboration and cloud‑based UC integrations.

Peraton provides the O&M of the network infrastructure and its components, integration for development of hardware and software solutions, and task support for the delivery of system, network, software, and security solutions.

About The Role

Peraton is seeking a self‑driven and resourceful Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic of Network and UC engineers in Washington, DC. This position serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting of enterprise voice, video, and collaboration platforms.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Cisco Unified Communications environments and extensive experience supporting secure, highly available enterprise communication systems. The engineer will ensure Quality of Service (QoS) standards are maintained for latency‑sensitive traffic and will support both operational sustainment and strategic modernization initiatives.

Senior Network Engineer responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise unified communications environments.
  • Administer and support collaboration platforms.
  • Configure and support Session Border Controllers (SBCs), SIP trunks, voice gateways, and telephony integrations.
  • Ensure Quality of Service (QoS) policies are properly implemented and optimized for voice and video traffic.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and capacity to ensure high availability and operational reliability.
  • Troubleshoot complex voice, video, signaling, and network interoperability issues.
  • Support secure communications architectures and compliance with enterprise security requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, operational procedures, and configuration baselines.
  • Coordinate with network operations, cybersecurity, engineering, and support teams during outages, maintenance activities, and modernization efforts.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and support personnel.
