POSITION SUMMARY: The National Education Association (NEA) is seeking a Trainer to provide strategic training and development support for NEA BizPro, NEA's enterprise resource planning platform powered by Unit4 ERPx. This position will focus exclusively on NEA BizPro, covering accounting, procurement, budgeting, and related modules. The Trainer will design, deliver, and administer comprehensive learning solutions that drive end-user adoption, enhance knowledge retention, and support business process transformation across NEA and its affiliates.
This role will partner closely with business owners, subject matter experts, support staff, and project teams to assess training needs and develop learning solutions in an environment where business processes, system usage standards, and supporting documentation may still be evolving. The incumbent will be expected to analyze current-state workflows, clarify process steps and decision points with stakeholders, and develop a strong working knowledge of the BizPro system's functionality, configuration, and applicable organizational policies to create accurate, practical, and sustainable training materials.
Key duties include creating and maintaining learning resources, including user guides, quick reference materials, videos, and e-learning content; leading the scheduling, logistics, and administration for all NEA BizPro training sessions, ensuring alignment with project timelines and organizational priorities; evaluating training effectiveness using data, metrics, and feedback; continuously refining content and delivery methods; developing and maintaining knowledge articles for NEA's self-service portal and case management system; coordinating quarterly release-related training updates to ensure end users are informed of new features, enhancements, and process changes; coaching and supporting end users, focusing on financial, procurement, and budgeting processes; serving as a key contributor to change management efforts, promoting user engagement and adoption; identifying learning product opportunities and solutions to ensure that new products will advance Association and Affiliate goals and initiatives; soliciting feedback from Affiliates and Association users to analyze product strengths and challenges and make recommendations for future learning products and current product updates and communicate findings and lessons learned to influence future products and processes.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Education, Adult Learning, Business, Technology, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Five years of in-depth professional experience in technology training delivery, preferably for financial, ERP, or enterprise business platforms. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with ERPs, specifically Unit4 modules, or a comparable cloud-based ERP solution (e.g., Workday, Oracle Cloud ERP, Microsoft Dynamics 365). Demonstrated experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and training delivery (in-person and virtual). Demonstrated experience managing training schedules and logistics. Demonstrated ability to translate complex business processes and technical concepts into accessible learning materials. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning development tools (Articulate 360) to coordinate and deliver impactful training and high-quality learning experiences for adult audiences. Must be able to work flexible schedules (shifts), and may be required to provide support across multiple time zones. Occasional travel required.
SELECTION CRITERIA: Tier 1 (Essential): Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and training delivery (in-person and virtual) for an enterprise-wide, financial/ERP, or complex business system with 500+ users. Demonstrated experience managing training schedules and logistics. Demonstrated ability to learn complex system functionality, business rules, and operational workflow and translate complex business processes and technical concepts into accessible learning materials. Demonstrated experience with Unit4 applications or other enterprise financial systems. Tier 2 (Significant): Knowledge of nonprofit or educational organization financial and business processes. Demonstrated ability to identify process gaps, ambiguities, and dependencies that affect training effectiveness and user readiness. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams and end-user groups. Demonstrated flexibility and ability to handle multiple and complex tasks simultaneously under tight timeframes and changing priorities/conditions. Demonstrated experience working independently, collaboratively, and in a team environment. Experience building training programs during system implementations, not only in steady-state environments. Successful references. Tier 3 (Desirable): Experience supporting financial or business systems (e.g., ERP, financial management systems). Knowledge of NEA's mission and strategic objectives, as well as the mission and strategic focus of NEA's Business Transformation Department.
