TheMerchandiser Assistant I (MA I)hasprimary responsibilityto perform administrative accounting functions and insure adherence toproper control proceduresof thebusiness unit.TheMAImust enterall pertinent information in their business unit's expert systemon a daily basis.The MerchandiserAssistant Icontributestopositive customer and vendor relations.The MA Iis required toreport all perceived control policy or procedure concerns to the Controller.

Requirements:

  • Responsible foraccurateandtimelyinformation entry andreporting functions. Input new contracts,salesinformationanddelivery transactions into the business unit 's expert system.This includes the entire supply chain process from pre-adviseto final settlement stages. Maintainan organized filing system which includes invoices, contracts,reportsand payment receipts.Ensure compliance of accounts payable andaccounts receivableactivities.Act as a primary contact forfinancefor business unit accounting functions.
  • Responsible forthe accuratereporting and reconciliation of inventory.Work with operations, Accounting/Control, and contract labor to gather necessary load transaction information.
  • Provide customer support and coordinatelogisticsand billing. Answer merchandiser lines during their absence;provideaccurateandtimelylogistic support (e.g.freight support including barge, vessels,railroadand trucks).
  • Communicate business position and miscellaneous adjustmentsto the merchandiser.Collaborates with the merchant at monthend insubmittingthe final profit and loss statement.
  • Other duties as assigned
