Job description

Company Description

Circle Logistics is a third-party logistics (3PL) firm focused on delivering three core promises to our customers:

  • No Fail Service
  • Personalized Communication
  • Innovative Solutions

We leverage technology, industry experience, and employee ingenuity to provide industry-leading transportation solutions that keep America moving.

Job Description

Position: Senior Director of Operations | Freight Brokerage

Reporting Location: Fort Wayne, IN

If you are built to own an entire brokerage operation - not just manage a team - this is your seat.

We are seeking a Senior Director of Operations to oversee and scale enterprise-level freight brokerage operations across multiple accounts and teams. This is a true executive-level opportunity designed for an operator who understands margin, execution, scalability, and accountability at scale.

Why This Role Is Different:

Enterprise Ownership

You will oversee national freight operations across high-volume accounts, directly impacting service performance, gross profit, and operational efficiency.

Architect of Scale

Build, restructure, and optimize multi-site and remote operations teams. This is a growth mandate - not a maintenance role.

Executive Visibility

Direct partnership with C-level leadership. You will influence growth strategy, operational structure, hiring plans, and long-term scalability.

Compensation That Reflects Impact

Strong executive base salary + performance-based incentives aligned to margin, productivity, and service metrics. Realistic path to $400K+ annually for high performers.

What You Bring:

8+ years in direct freight brokerage operations (non-asset based required)

Proven leadership over multi-team brokerage environments

Experience managing volume-driven, fast-paced freight networks

Strong financial acumen - deep understanding of GP, margin optimization, and cost controls

Spot bid & RFQ oversight experience at scale

Track record of building and leading high-performance operational teams

Ability to drive accountability without micromanagement

Executive-level communication and decision-making skills

Asset-based or carrier-only experience will not be considered. This is pure brokerage leadership.

What You Will Own

Full oversight of brokerage operations performance

Team structure, hiring strategy, and leadership development

Margin improvement and operational efficiency initiatives

Spot market and contract freight execution strategy

Service metrics, carrier strategy, and capacity management

Cross-functional collaboration with Sales and Executive Leadership

Removal of operational bottlenecks that limit scalability

You will not be handed a small team to "manage." You will be handed an operation to optimize, scale, and elevate.

Our Commitment:

Executive-Level Compensation

Strong base + performance incentives tied directly to operational impact.

Strategic Influence

A voice at the table. Your recommendations will drive decisions.

Autonomy

Freedom to build the structure you believe in - backed by leadership support.

Growth Platform

A clear runway toward VP-level leadership for those who execute.

This role is for operators who think like owners.

If you understand brokerage at scale, know how to build leaders beneath you, and want to influence the trajectory of a growing freight organization - this is the opportunity.

Lead the operation. Own the outcome. Apply now.

Additional Information

All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
