Job description

New Tech Global is currently seeking an Assembler for a contract role in Tulsa, OK. The Assembler will support production operations by assembling, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and moving materials while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards in a manufacturing environment.
Overview
  • Assemble designated products such as stuffing boxes, partially or completely, while working at a bench or on the shop floor.
  • Locate and discard defective items according to company procedures.
  • Assemble equipment according to knowledge of unit being assembled or by following blueprints using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
  • Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure proper operation of parts.
  • Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting products and components and note any need for modification.
  • Assist in troubleshooting units as needed.
  • Conduct hydrostatic tests as required or directed.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Use a forklift to move freight and/or inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience with assembly of parts.
  • Familiarity with hand tools is highly preferred.
  • Basic tool knowledge.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and blueprints.
  • High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical school training preferred.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and work with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of shop safety practices.
  • Knowledge of shop mathematics.
  • Above average skills in retaining instruction.
  • Demonstrated ability to progressively assemble products.
  • General knowledge of mechanical applications.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
