Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional who coordinates patient care delivery by the healthcare team.
Using the nursing process, the RN assesses patients, identifies nursing diagnoses, develops and implements individualized plans of care, and evaluates patient responses.
The RN promotes safe passage for patients by using knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients in transitioning through healthcare encounters without complications or delays.
The RN delegates interventions based on the nursing practice act, patient condition, and staff competencies.
This role includes RNs in hospital inpatient and outpatient departments with 24/7 staffing needs.
