POSITION SUMMARY:

The Commercial Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for the administration, servicing, and maintenance of the Credit Union's commercial loan portfolio. This position ensures the accuracy of commercial loan records, processes loan transactions, maintains collateral and documentation files, supports loan officers and members, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, Credit Union policies, and loan agreements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process commercial loan advances, payments, and payoffs; prepare payoff statements, amortization schedules, and loan histories as requested. Partner with Accounting, Deposit Operations, Compliance, and other teams to ensure accurate and timely loan servicing. Provide support to Commercial Loan Officers and Credit Analysts throughout the loan lifecycle.
• Monitor loan maturity dates, annual review dates, property taxes, insurance coverage, financial reporting requirements, and other covenant compliance requirements. Follow up with borrowers and relationship managers regarding missing or expired documentation. Maintain organized electronic and physical loan files. Responsible for the completion and documentation of annual site inspections.
• Maintain accurate loan records within the core processing system and related loan servicing platforms. Track and monitor financial statements, tax returns, borrowing base certificates, and other required reporting from commercial borrowers.
• Maintain collateral records, including UCC filings, lien releases, title documentation, and insurance coverage. Process collateral releases and ensure proper documentation is obtained and retained.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for commercial loan servicing inquiries from members, business owners, and internal staff. Research and resolve loan servicing issues in a timely and professional manner. Participate in process improvement initiatives designed to enhance efficiency and member service.
• Assist with internal and external audits, examinations, and compliance reviews. Identify and report servicing discrepancies, documentation exceptions, and operational risks.
• Responsible for knowing and adhering to USCU policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook and training manuals. Ensure loan servicing activities comply with federal and state regulations, Credit Union policies, and loan agreements.
• Comply with all BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures.
• Secure and safeguard at all times the confidential information of members, employees, and the Credit Union, including account information, security, and personal information.
• Promote and maintain a positive and professional image of Union Square to employees, members, and the community.
• Must have the flexibility to deal with changing work hours and locations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, management, or Human Resources.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Minimum of 2 years of commercial loan servicing, loan operations, banking, or credit union experience is ideal. Experience with commercial loan documentation and collateral administration preferred. Familiarity with commercial lending concepts, loan structures, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

(1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
