Construction Project Manager – Lead Commercial Fencing 


Job Overview

  • Company: Northeast Fence and Ironworks
  • Salary/Pay Rate: $90,000 - $105,000 (Performance Bonus Potential)

  • Project Scope: Manages a high-volume portfolio of 100–150 active commercial, industrial, residential, federal, and union projects simultaneously, of which 30–50 are large-scale engagements requiring elevated, hands-on oversight. 


The Opportunity

You will serve as the central hub of our commercial fencing operations, owning every project from initial award through final inspection. This role gives you the autonomy to manage production scheduling, installation crew coordination, and field quality for an established, family-owned industry leader. You will drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment where your leadership directly impacts company growth and client satisfaction.


How You Will Make an Impact

  • Monitor a live jobs-in-progress list of 100–150 active accounts across estimating, fabrication, and installation phases.
  • Establish realistic production lead times at job award based on current shop capacity and material availability.
  • Coordinate daily scheduling across 30–50 installations per month while balancing material readiness and crew capacity.
  • Conduct regular job site visits for complex projects to verify work meets strict company quality standards.
  • Identify field scope changes proactively and execute accurate change orders before performing out-of-scope work.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and general contractors to provide consistent project updates.
  • Maintain daily communication with estimators to develop a thorough understanding of project scope details prior to mobilization 
  • Resolve field conflicts, material variances, and technical requests for information professionally and with urgency.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated project management experience within commercial construction, fencing, or a related trade.
  • Proven proficiency reading and interpreting detailed construction drawings, architectural site plans, and specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of active construction projects simultaneously in a field environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. 
  • Valid driver's license and a willingness to travel up to 50% of working hours to various regional job sites.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: Valid Driver's License


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • 5 or more years of related work experience specifically within fencing, railings, or miscellaneous metals.
  • Strong background in construction operations, commercial subcontract agreements, and change order management.
  • Proficiency in Procore and Textura Platforms
  • OSHA 30 certification.
